  • How does this work?
    Short answer: We sell your stuff and give you cash for it. Long answer: The first step is talking or emailing with you and learning about the items you'd like to sell. In most instances, we'll come to your home to view your items and begin to lay out a plan of action. We'll ask questions and learn about your items, their history, where they came from, what you might think their value is and other pertinent details. At this time, we're often able to give you a rough estimate of approximate values. We'll take initial photos, sometimes a weight or measurements and then go back and begin any necessary research. Depending on the item, it's not always a simple determination of value. With jewelry, often we'll get a basic appraisal from our jeweler or research what a certain designer brand is going for. With antiques and collectibles, often further research is needed to understand the item(s) and their sales history. We subscribe to online services that show years worth of auction results for collectible and valuable items. We also scour the internet and eBay for similar items. It's a time consuming process but one that ultimately pays off for you Once the decision is made to move forward and sell the items, we take a series of photographs for each item from every angle. Far away shots and close ups, any pertinent signatures or textures that should be shown. The backgrounds and lighting must be correct to sufficiently highlight each item in the best possible way. After the photographs are taken, they are edited and prepared to be inserted in the listing. Finally, the item is measured and weighed in order to accurately calculate postage. Each listing is created with professional software and includes all aspects of selling your items. From choosing the selling platform(s) to writing a headline that will drive people to your item and everything in between. Photos must be sized correctly, the description must be written in an interesting, enticing way and include all important facts. Shipping must calculated and included, payment terms, length of auction, starting price, reserves, world wide coverage and more are just some of the things that must be covered. With each listing, many emails are exchanged between Online Seller Hawaii and potential buyers. We dedicate as much time as necessary to communicating with people interested in your item. We also give you updates along the way if anything comes up. Once your item(s) is sold, a great deal of paperwork is generated thru online platforms, emails need to be sent to the buyer requesting payment, invoices are sent, payments are received and must be kept track of, and a detailed, itemized list of what's sold and what fees are involved must be calculated and generated for the seller. In addition, the item must now be packed for shipping with the appropriate supplies, mailing labels need to be generated and the items need to be shipped. Finally, payments (cash or check) are issued to the seller and we are done! Each sale can take 1-10 hours to complete (depending on the reserach involved) to sell.   • What types of items do you sell?
    As long as your item is valued at over $250, we will try to sell it! Jewelry, electronics, antiques, designer clothing and handbags, furniture, art, automobiles, collectibles, antiques... if it's of value, we'll sell it!
  • How much do you charge to sell my item?
    Online Seller Hawaii charges a percentage of the sale price which is between 25-50%. The higher the price, the lower our commission. We do not charge extra for items that take longer to sell or that require more research. We also do not have any hidden fees. The percentage we charge varies depending on the value of the item, but it is something we all agree upon before moving forward. Our fee includes ALL associated fees with selling your item(s). Ebay, Etsy and other online platforms charge from 10% - 15% in basic fees. There is also fees for receiving a buyers money which is, on average, an additional 3%. If we use reserves or highlight the listing in other ways such as Google ads, more fees accrue. It can all be confusing, but we take it all into consideration and simply charge you a flat fee, on a sliding scale, based on the items final sales price.   • Where will my items be during the process?
    If your item is small and easy to transport, we will take the item off your hands as soon as our contract is in place. This way we can take photos, arrange for showings and ship it easily once it sells. If it is a larger item like furniture or a car, then it will stay in your possesion. We may need you to show the item to potential buyers in this case, but we may also be able to handle this service as well.
  • How will you sell my item?
    We sell items using online platforms such as Ebay, Etsy, Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. We have seasoned accounts with awesome reviews and so it makes it easier for us to sell high value items because we have gained trust on these platforms.
  • Do I get to choose my sale price?
    Determining the sale price will be something we agree upon together. We have extensive experience with selling and will do plenty research to come up with a price that will get your item sold and get you the payout you are seeking.
  • What happens if my item doesn't sell?
    We've been selling in Hawaii since 2006 and online since 2000. We know what sells and how to sell it. If we don't think your item will sell we won't take it. Sometimes the price of your items will need to be reduced in order to make it more attractive to buyers. We will be doing our best to sell your item and if it does not sell and you are not comfortable lowering the price anymore, we will simply return it to you.
  • When do I get paid for my item and will I receive cash?
    You get paid for your item as soon as we receive payment from the seller. We can pay you via cash, check, Venmo or Paypal.
  • What islands do you serve?
    We are located in Waikiki on the island of Oahu. If you are on a neighboring island, we may be able to help you if you are willling to ship your item(s) to us. Over the years we've had clients from all over and even the mainland!
  • Are my items safe with you?
    The most important thing you should know about Online Sellers Hawaii is that we are honest, reliable, ethcial and compassionate. We know that some of your things have sentimental as well as monetary value and we are sensitive to your connection to them. We also know that scam artists are very real and finding someone that you can TRUST is so important. We have been serving Hawaii residents since 2006 and we live by the old saying, "A reputation is like a sandcastle, it takes a lifetime to build and only a moment to destroy".
